On 3 November, a third informal dialogue of Ambassadors on priorities for trade and environmental sustainability was held at ITC office in Geneva, co-hosted by the ITC, UNEP and TESS.
The session addressed how the African continent can use the AfCFTA to advance the green transition, improve their integration into the global value chains, and build resilient and sustainable value chains.
The session aims to identify concrete ways that governments and stakeholders can work together to promote multilateral cooperation on sustainable trade, with a focus on environmental deliverables for MC12.
The meeting was convened by TESS to provide an opportunity for Geneva-based stakeholders to share updates on plans and priorities for MC12.
This briefing will offer an overview of recent developments on environmental topics at the WTO and in the lead up to the 12th WTO Ministerial Conference (MC12).
