Organized as part of Geneva Trade Week, which is hosted annually at the Geneva Graduate Institute by the Geneva Trade Platform in the margins of the WTO Public Forum, TESS hosted this stakeholder breakfast on climate, trade, and sustainable development for the third year running.
Climate, Trade, and Sustainable Development at the WTO: Priorities and Pathways Towards Concrete Outcomes at MC14
The breakfast roundtable builds on the growing interest and engagement of a broad range of WTO members and stakeholders in fostering enhanced international cooperation on trade, climate, and sustainability at the WTO.
The roundtable, which is by invitation-only, aimed to provide an opportunity for a diverse group of experts present in Geneva for the WTO Public Forum to exchange views on:
- Priorities, options, and ways forward on trade, climate, and sustainable development at the WTO.
- Concrete outcomes that could be envisaged for the Fourteenth WTO Ministerial Conference (MC14).
A rapid "tour de table" format enabled a round-up of thinking and proposals from a range of different experts and has in the past provided a great foundation for further exchanges and collaboration among many of those present.
