Sustainability and Trade at the Crossroads of the World: Opportunities for MENA Amid a Changing Trade Landscape

TESS partnered with the Remaking Trade Project, the Imal Initiative for Climate and Development, the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences - Souissi at Mohammed V University in Rabat and the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA), to convene this event, which focused on trade and sustainability issues in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. 

This three-day event brought together policymakers, regional institutions, academics, and trade experts to explore sustainability and trade opportunities for Middle East and North African countries in the current global trade landscape.

Sessions focused on:

  • Trade at the Climate–Economy Crossroads: Why the World is Watching MENA
  • Framing the Challenge: MENA, Trade and Sustainability
  • Regional Integration, Supply Chains and Logistics
  • Innovation, Green Industrialization and Trade
  • Food Security, Water and Trade
  • Financing Regional Trade and Green Industrialization; and 
  • MENA, Sustainability and Global Trade Governance
