Positive Psychology and Ecology

Lisa Garnier will present her latest work, which explores the intersection of positive psychology and biodiversity conservation.

Over the past two decades, two seemingly distinct fields have explored human well-being. Positive psychology examines how positive emotions emerge, persist, and contribute to happiness and overall well-being. In contrast, the sciences of biodiversity conservation focus on protecting and preserving nature.

In "Psychologie positive et écologie", Lisa Garnier investigates these two dynamic areas of research, emphasizing the essential role of relationships. Supported by statistical evidence, the book demonstrates how serenity and happiness can be fostered through social connections and engagement with the natural world.

The discussion will be moderated in French and English by Joëlle Noailly, Senior Lecturer in International Economics at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID). Participants with a passive understanding of French are encouraged to attend, as the author is also fluent in English.

An informal cocktail reception will be held immediately after the conference.
