TESS and Cuts International Geneva co-hosted an informal brainstorming on circular economy, trade, and sustainable development at the WTO, bringing together a small group of delegations facilitating work related to circular economy in the Informal Dialogue on Plastics Pollution and the Trade and Environment Sustainability Structured Discussions.
The Conversation Focused on Three Goals
- sharing plans and aspirations for the work in the two processes, including possible topics to be covered, synergies, and potential outcomes;
- sharing updates on inputs and expertise stakeholders can offer that would be useful to support those processes;
- reflecting together on what is needed to ensure attention to developing country perspectives and approaches to this topic based on their sustainable development priorities.
