Selected as part of the inaugural WTO Public Forum Curated Conversations series—hosted by the Geneva Trade Platform in partnership with the World Trade Organization (WTO)—this roundtable, co-hosted by TESS, Tulip Consulting, and ODI Global, brought together senior policymakers, private sector leaders, and trade experts to discuss how a new generation of green trade partnerships, bilateral agreements and cooperation frameworks can support clean technology value chain integration.
Objectives
Discussion focused on aligning trade and industrial policy objectives with climate goals, mobilizing private investment and enabling open and inclusive supply chain integration.
Participants addressed the following areas:
- Designing policy mechanisms and institutional arrangements to support long-term, cross-border clean technology partnerships.
- Mobilizing private capital and enabling co-development and technology transfer to deliver tangible green outcomes.
- Ensuring global clean tech supply chain integration remains open, transparent and equitable for developing economies.
- Translating early bilateral and plurilateral trade experiments into scalable models that can be applied across regions and technologies.
