Policy Associate, Trade, Climate, and Sustainable Development

Vinati Bhola is an international environmental and trade lawyer with experience in law and public policy across the private sector, governments and multilateral organizations. At TESS, she is a Policy Associate contributing to ​multistakeholder projects, panels, and publications on the nexus of trade, climate, and sustainable development. She is also the coordinator of the Coalition of Trade Ministers on Climate, providing technical support and spearheading the strategic planning and delivery of ministerial engagements of over 60 trade ministers. Vinati brings prior experience of working with the WTO’s Trade and Environment Division as well as the Legal and Policy Division of the Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm conventions, UNEP. She has also worked as a consultant with the International Trade Centre and UNITAR on a range of sustainable development issues. Prior to coming to Geneva, Vinati practiced law in Delhi and served as a Legal Advisor to the Government of India on a range of strategic disinvestment transactions under different central ministries.
 
She holds an LL.M. degree in International Law from the Geneva Graduate Institute with a specialization in the cross-cutting field of international trade and environmental laws. In her parallel life, Vinati is a poet and the author of two poetry books, Udaari and Dori.
