Kookie Habtegaber

Senior Policy Advisor

Kookie Habtegaber is a development economist. Her main focus has been on the interface between economic development, environmental risks, and sustainable finance. Most recently Kookie served as the global lead for the World Wildlife Fund’s green economy work. Before joining WWF, Kookie worked as a management consultant focusing on international trade and sustainable finance where she led and coordinated the launch of the Natural Capital Declaration - the flagship initiative by the finance community to account for natural capital. In this role, she worked closely with a wide array of financial institutions, governments, (I)NGOs, and companies. Kookie holds an MBA in Strategic Carbon Management and Climate Change from the University of East Anglia, an MSc in International Economics from University of Maastricht, and a diploma in management consultancy from the Institute of Consulting in the United Kingdom.
