State of play & next steps on environment at the WTO: Opening Plenary of Geneva Trade Week 2022

To open Geneva Trade Week 2022, the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the United Nations Programme for Environment (UNEP) co-organized, in collaboration with the Forum on Trade, Environment & the SDGs (TESS) a briefing for stakeholders on the state of play and next steps on environment at the WTO. Geneva Trade Week is presented annually by the Geneva Trade Platform in the margins of the WTO Public Forum.  

The briefing on ‘State of play and next steps on environment at the WTO’ took place in a hybrid format on Monday 26 September 2022 from 12:30 to 14:00 CEST. Participants were invited to register to attend either in person at the the Auditorium of the Geneva Graduate Institute, Petal 2, Maison de la Paix, Chemin Eugène-Rigot 2A, Geneva or via zoom. 

This briefing aimed at strengthening awareness of stakeholders on the state of play on environment at the WTO through updates from chairs, coordinators and convenors of various environment-related processes in the WTO.
