Seizing the opportunity of the presence of numerous stakeholders attending in the Fourteenth WTO Ministerial Conference (MC14) and the IISD’s Trade & Sustainability Hub in Yaoundé, Cameroon, this light lunch roundtable aims to bring together 25-30 leading experts on trade, environment, and sustainable development.
Issues to discuss and share views on:
a) What are some key priorities and recent developments on international cooperation on trade, environment, and sustainable development in Africa?
b) What prospects and pathways are there for international trade cooperation to preserve sustainable development in a tense and uncertain trading environment?
The discussion will take place in an informal, off-the-record setting. Each participant will have 2 minutes to offer remarks on either questions a), b), or both. This rapid ‘tour de table’ enables a really great round-up of thinking and proposals from a range of different experts. TESS has adopted this approach in the past, and it has provided a strong foundation for further exchanges and collaboration among many present.
Please kindly note that participation in this roundtable is by invitation only.
