Briefing for the UN Secretary General on Transboundary Marine Litter and Plastic Pollution

TESS Director, Carolyn Deere Birkbeck, was invited to give a briefing for the UN Secretary General and his Senior Management Group to share her expertise on the topic of "Multilateral Solutions to Marine Litter and Plastic Pollution."

The briefing focused on the increasing need for multilateral action to tackle the global crisis on transboundary marine litter and plastic pollution, the important role of the UN in bringing governments and other stakeholders together to address it, and also highlighted how solving the marine litter and plastic pollution crisis is critical to meeting the 2030 agenda targets.
