Informal exchange on circular economy, trade, and sustainable development at the WTO
The Forum on Trade, Environment and the SDGs (TESS) and CUTS International Geneva co-hosted an informal brainstorming on circular economy, trade, and sustainable development at the WTO, bringing together a small group of delegations facilitating work related to circular economy in the IDP and TESSD processes, along with number of Geneva-based stakeholders.
The conversation focused on three goals:
-
Sharing plans and aspirations for the work in the two processes, including possible topics to be covered, synergies, and potential outcomes;
-
Sharing updates on inputs and expertise stakeholders can offer that would be useful to support those processes;
-
Reflecting together on what is needed to ensure attention to developing country perspectives and approaches to this topic based on their sustainable development priorities.
